LENA "FRANCES" PHILLIPS

Lena "Frances" Phillips, 91, of Panama City, died Friday, July 25, 2008. She was born December 14, 1916 in Troy, Alabama to John & Cora Pippin. She was a secretary at Olive Baptist Church in Pensacola before moving to Panama City 18 years ago. She was also a volunteer in Olive Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church Libraries. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Morrison Phillips, brother, Louis Pippin, sister, Ollie Ruth Pippin, granddaughter, Nichole Osmon and a nephew, John Pippin. She is survived by 2 daughters, Linda Shaw and husband, Graham of Panama City; Margaret Osmon and husband, Rick of Montgomery, TX; 5 grandchildren, John Shaw and wife, Anna Kate and their children, Avery, Audrey, Madeline; Mark Shaw and wife, DeAnne and their children, Zachary, Emma; Paul Shaw and wife, Lynn and their children, Ryan, Delaney; Doug Osmon and wife, Marcia and their children, Hunter, Reagan, Lane (due in October), Alyssa Osmon; and 2 sisters-in-law, Beth Nelson and husband, Max and Jean Phillips and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2:30 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Moore officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1-2:30 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Bayview Cemetery, Pensacola, FL. Those desiring may make a contribution to the Library Fund at Northside Baptist Church, 530 Airport Road, Panama City, FL 32405 or the Library Fund at Olive Baptist Church, 1836 Olive Road, Pensacola, FL 32514.
