Obituary

Lena Smith Baker, 87, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was born November 15, 1928 in Pensacola, Florida and was a 1946 graduate of Bay High School. She had been formerly employed by the Naval Base, Southern Bell, Commercial Bank, Lisenby Hospital and Dr. Tim Smith. She was a member of the St. Andrew Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Henry L. Baker and a sister, Clara Smith Larsen. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Peters (Larry); Barbara Hedeen (Pete); Susan Legg (Jim); Marie Martinez (Dannie); grandchildren, Jason Peters (Angela); Theresa Hamm (John); Kenneth Hedeen (Jesse); Colton Burleson; great grandchildren, Kayla, Kristen and Caden Peters, Henry Hamm, Lauren and Joseph Hedeen and Holland Dixon. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Wave officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Lena Baker. The family would like to thank the Panama City Nursing Center for their excellent care the past 3 years.
