Lena Smith Baker, 87, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was born November 15, 1928 in Pensacola, Florida and was a 1946 graduate of Bay High School. She had been formerly employed by the Naval Base, Southern Bell, Commercial Bank, Lisenby Hospital and Dr. Tim Smith. She was a member of the St. Andrew Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Henry L. Baker and a sister, Clara Smith Larsen. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Peters (Larry); Barbara Hedeen (Pete); Susan Legg (Jim); Marie Martinez (Dannie); grandchildren, Jason Peters (Angela); Theresa Hamm (John); Kenneth Hedeen (Jesse); Colton Burleson; great grandchildren, Kayla, Kristen and Caden Peters, Henry Hamm, Lauren and Joseph Hedeen and Holland Dixon. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Wave officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Covenant Hospice, 107 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Lena Baker.
