Another soldier for Christ went home to be with her Messiah on June 19, 2008. What rejoicing she is doing meeting her Lord and Savior and the long awaited day has come that she would be reunited with her beloved grandson Kenneth David. She was born December 29, 1933 to James and Lillie McLean. She had been a resident of Panama City since 1953, moving here from Coffee County, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Rudolph Purvis and grandson, Kenneth David Purvis Jr. She is survived by her children, Bobby Purvis and wife Charlotte, Shirley Vaughn and husband Tommy, Kenny Purvis and wife Tina, 4 grandchildren, Michele Jordan and husband Clayton, Christopher Purvis and wife Brandi, Jaime Vaughn, Jared Vaughn and wife Renee, 5 great grandchildren, Alex Jordan, Makayla Banks, Andrew Jordan, Turner Purvis and Bailey Vaughn. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tommy Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active and honorary pallbearers will be Bruce McLean, Clay Stovall, Darryl Stovall, Ricky McCall, Randy McCall, Donnie McCall, Jay Purvis, Mike Purvis, Dwayne Purvis and Steve Harbuck.
