LELA SASSER PETTIS
Lela Sasser Pettis, 81, of Panama City, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2012. She was born on October 7, 1930 to Franklin & Metha Sasser. Mrs. Pettis was a longtime member of the House of Prayer Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos Pettis; son, Daniel Pettis; four brothers and one sister. She is survived by her six children, Udon Sanders (Millie), Inez Sanders, Kathy Carter, Carolyn Powell, Elizabeth White (Joey), Mechelle Irvin (Stacy); 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; and one sister, Pansy Barton. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday at Barfield Cemetery, Wausau, FL. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. and from 10 – 12 p.m. on Friday prior to the service.
