LAURITA HARRIS WOODHAM
Laurita Harris Woodham, 78, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. She was born February 3, 1933, in Dothan, Alabama to T.J. & Mary Francis Harris and was raised in Graceville, Florida. She graduated from the University of Florida and remained an avid Gator fan throughout her life. She was an elementary school teacher in Tallahassee, retiring after 33 years of service. She was an ardent bridge player, reader and loved to
travel. She was a long time member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church where
she had many devoted friends. She was preceded in death by her husband,
Lowell Woodham, and her parents. She is survived by her three daughters,
Lynn Gafvert (Rolf), of Houston, TX, Lisa Mynard (Jeff), and Linda Scruggs all
of Panama City; devoted friend, Doyle Conner, of Tallahassee; six grandchildren,
Haley Scruggs Gillespie (Evan), Harris Scruggs, Taylor Leonard, Scott Leonard,
Colby Mynard, Trace Mynard; two great grandchildren, Ryder Gillespie, Branson
Scruggs; sister, Mary Harris, of Baton Rouge, LA; and two brothers, Gerald
Harris (Mason), of Tallahassee and James Harris (Betty), of Graceville, FL.
The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 – 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Marvin Chapel Cemetery, Graceville, Florida. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the T.J. & Mary Francis Harris Scholarship Fund, c/o the Baptist College of Florida, 5400 College Dr, Graceville, FL 32440 in memory of Laurita Harris Woodham.
