Larry L. Peterson, 80, of Lynn Haven, Florida, passed away unexpectedly in a local hospital on Friday, January 15.
Larry was a life-long resident of Bay County, married in 1956 to Sally Jean Poston. He worked as an electrical contractor until his death, having worked at both the St. Joe Paper Mill and the Panama City Paper Mill before beginning his own electrical
construction firm, State Electric Service, Inc. and then Panhandle Signal, Inc. He was a 1953 graduate of Bay High School and a Korean War veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends.
He was a loving father and devoted husband, preceded in death by his wife, Sally J. Peterson. Also preceded in death by his parents, James T. (Gladys) Peterson, brothers, James T. Peterson, Jr., Edward S. Peterson and sister, Delores E. (Bob) Kramer.
He is survived by his fiancée, Patricia Howell, sister, Bertie Lou Miller, daughter, Pamela (Harry) Kelly, Jr., daughter, Patricia M. Peterson and son, Larry (Janice) Peterson, Jr. Also, granddaughter, Jennifer (David) Collier, grandson, Zachary (Jordan) Peterson, granddaughter, Jacey Peterson, granddaughter Hannah Peterson, step-grandchildren, Kelsey Stanley and Courtney Baker, great-granddaughter, Harper Ann Collier, great-grandson, Zachary Collier and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6-8 p.m. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. England and the nurses and staff of Bay Medical Heart Institute.
