LAMAR SAULS
Lamar Sauls, 63, of Youngstown got his wings as his Heavenly Father knelt down from His Mighty Throne, gently took him by the hand and safely led him home to rest in His arms on Monday, February 26, 2007. He was born on November 18, 1943 in Panama City, Florida. He was a 1962 graduate of Bay High School. He was a member of Bear Creek Assembly of God. He loved sharing his woodwork with others, riding horses, fishing and his family above all. He was a pillar of the community, a devoted husband and a dedicated father. He was a man his daughters called their hero. He began his law enforcement career as a policeman with the Quincy Police Department. From there, he retired from the Bay County Sheriff's Office in 1999 after 24 years of hard work and dedication. After retirement, he enjoyed working at Wild Bill's Bingo. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Cook Sauls, a son and four daughters, Michael Sauls and his wife, Ginger, Stacy Sauls, Patty Charz and her husband, Bryan, Sarah Smith and her husband, Neill, Isabelle Sauls, two grandchildren, Jacob Smith, Landon Lamar Sauls, twin brother, James Sauls and his wife, Joanna, nephew, Ricky Sauls, niece, Lisa Whitman, close friends, Gilbert and Teresa Davis and their children, Gilbert Jr., and Jason. Graveside services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in Forest Lawn Cemetery with Retired Deputy Mike Broadway officiating. The Bay County Sheriff's Office will provide honors at the service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Bear Creek Assembly of God Building Fund c/o Panhandle Educators Federal Credit Union, 2718 Highway 77, Panama City, FL 32405.
