IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kimberly Anne
(Ashton) Barbero
May 2, 1960 – August 13, 2021
Kimberly Anne (Ashton) Barbero was born in Orlando, Florida on May 2, 1960. She graduated Mosley High School, Lynn Haven, in 1978. For 17 years Kim served as a knowledgeable, dedicated Materials Management Specialist for Bay County Roads and Bridges. Her colleagues knew her as a kind soul who was always willing to help with a smile and laughter.
On August 13, 2021, at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center, Kim was surrounded by love when she lost her battle with COVID. For as long as she was able, she communicated with family and friends by text messages and handwritten notes. Her words were positive and comforting and, as always, filled with humor and showing her concern for others.
Kim was predeceased by her beloved father figure "Dad" Crook Stewart Jr., sister-in-law Ara Florentino De Ashton, and members of the Johnson, Newsome-Ashton, Fulmer, Bouchard and O'Neal families.
Left to treasure precious memories are her loving mother, Gwyneth Stewart; two devoted sons, Joshua Brannon (Shanta) and Jacob Barbero (Ashley). Six grandchildren: Cayden Sapp, Kaly Brannon, Judah Sapp, Annabelle Barbero, Emma Brannon, Owen Barbero. Brother, Marcus Steven Ashton. Partner, Douglas McCormick. Step-brother Crook Stewart III, step-sisters Leigh Pettibone and Kelley Heaton. Lifelong friend, Karla Kahle, and many other cherished friends and family.
Kim loved nothing more than being with family and friends. A "people person," she brought joy and laughter to all that met her. Her smile was infectious and she gave the best hugs.
The family has entrusted Wilson Funeral Home with the arrangements. Those who wish to visit for a final goodbye may join the family at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, August 28, 2021, at 2:30 p.m. with memorial to begin at 3 p.m. Per Kim's wishes, her family and closest friends will gather at a later date for a private interment ceremony.
The family is grateful for the nurses, doctors and staff who tenderly cared for Kim at Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish may instead: Make a contribution to Operation Spay Bay, 3520 15th Street, Panama City or its online website or to any charity of choice; or give others lots of smiles and kindness in memory of Kim.
