KENNETH EUGENE "KEN" UNDERWOOD

July 5, 1960 – December 24, 2011

On Saturday, December 24, 2011, Ken died at Bay Medical Center of acute renal failure. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry M. Underwood; step-dad, Robert Flynn; fraternal grandparents, Raymond & Marge Underwood; maternal grandparents, Neil M. & Delina Ouellette; and his best dog ever, Sampson. He is survived by his mother, Geraldine Flynn; two brothers, Roger (Lisa), James (Cindy); half-brother, Terry Underwood; four sisters, Tess Harrell, Ruth Smith (Smitty), Janet Szechenyi (Joe), Elaine Hutto (Johnny); half-sister, Felicia Underwood and numerous nieces and nephews.
As many knew Ken, he was a "Jack-of-All Trades, Master of None." He served in the Army, worked with Traveling Fairs, cooked, was very creative, but was very proud of his long haul Truck Driving Carrier. No matter the situation, Ken always had an answer for everything! The last seven months, Ken spent at Community Health and Rehabilitation, where he fought very hard to regain his strength and independence and showed how strong of a man he truly was. He could be the biggest pain in your side, but had a heart the size of the ocean.
Memorialization was by cremation. A mass and blessing of the remains was held Friday, December 30, 2011 at the St. Dominic's Catholic Church.
A celebration of his life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Southport Assembly of God Church, 7809 Highway 2302, Southport, FL.
