KATHRYN HARRIS RIGNEY
Kathryn Harris Rigney, 75, of Panama City, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, surrounded by her loving family. She was born August 6, 1933, in Panama City to Ruth and Harry Harris. She was a 1951 graduate of Bay High School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Panama City, where she attended the Lillie Pennington Sunday School Class. She retired after 30 years of service as a secretary with the U.S. Air Force. She was a past president of the Air Force Officers Wives Club at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH, and also an avid bridge player. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Patsy Shelton; brother-in-law, Dick Shelton; and niece, Vicki Harris Haupt. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Rigney, of Tampa; two sisters, Janet Harris and Kay Cromwell; brother, Robert Harris and wife Seija; nephew, Rob Harris; two nieces, Amy Cromwell-Griffin and Emily Cromwell-Parsley; and beloved dog, Beau. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Warren officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. prior to the service.
