Kathryn Sims Pentzer
Kathryn (Kitty) Sims Pentzer, 89 of Panama City Beach, Florida passed away March 16, 2010. She was a resident of Panama City Beach for over 55 years. Kitty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years Milton Pentzer; father, Ezra Sims and mother, Kate Sims. Kitty was a devoted mother and wife. Kitty was born November 20, 1920 in Birmingham, AL. She attended and graduated from Birmingham Southern College with a degree in Sociology. She worked for the State of Florida, HRS Division for many years tirelessly working to help the underprivileged. Kitty gave generously of her time as a volunteer to the community working with Project Literacy, Bay County Library, Panama City Rescue Mission and Bay Medical Center. Kitty was a devoted member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church since 1960. She loved the church, serving on many committees over the years. Kitty is survived by her son, Michael Pentzer; her daughter in law Julie Pentzer; her brother, Ezra Sims Jr. and brother in law and family Herb, Lottie and Stan Kirsch.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 21 at Wilson Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 5 pm. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 22 at Woodlawn United Methodist Church. A graveside service for Kitty will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 219 N Alf Coleman Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 in memory of Kitty Pentzer.
