Kathleen Hales
1927-2012
Kathleen Hales, 85, joined her heavenly father on October 26, 2012 at Covenant Hospice in Panama City, Florida.
Kathleen was born January 10, 1927 in Bruce, Florida to Lester and Lillie Myers. She lived most of her life in Panama City, graduating from Bay High School in 1946, moving to Pine Bluff, Ark. with her husband Hubert and raising her two boys, Denny and Mike.
All those that loved Kathleen, knew that she had God's spirit of love, care, compassion, and the gift of support. She would offer herself as a servant for these purposes at any opportunity. Even until her final days, she was most concerned with others than of herself, always wanting to know how each and every one she loved was doing. Her sweet heart was like no other.
She enjoyed many activities through the years including bowling and community service. She was an active member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority here and in Pine Bluff. She also loved to travel with her friends. Most of all she was known for her gift of socializing and hosting friends in her home with warmth and love.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Hales and son Denny Hales.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Mike Hales (Tammy); four grandchildren, Christi Hales Bogard, Jeff Hales (Holly), Chris Hales (Julia), and Kayla Hales; four great-grandchildren, Byron Hales, Ava Hales, Bennett Hales, and Gage Bogard, her brother Charles Myers (Marilyn) and her beloved sister, Maxine Burdeshaw, who was always by her side.
Special thanks are extended to the caregivers at St. Andrews Nursing Home and especially to Mitch Chandler with Covenant Hospice for the love and care he gave her in her final days.
A graveside service will be held Monday, October 29th 2012 at Greenwood Cemetery, 17th St. & Lisenby Ave., Panama City, FL at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Covenant Hospice.
