Obituary

Katherine Wanda Wilder, 74, of Panama City, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 10, 2015. She was born in Port St. Joe on September 8th, 1940. Wanda moved to Panama City from Port St. Joe in 1972 and was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.L. Kennington Sr. and Mildred Wanda Rowan Kennington of Port St Joe. She is survived by her husband, Thomas G. Wilder Sr., four children, Thomas G. Wilder Jr., Willis Wilder, Debbie Collinsworth (Rodger) of Panama City, Jeffrey Wilder (Tracy); two grandchildren, Rachel Wilder and Wesley Wilder of Atlanta Georgia; sister, Ellen Gilbert (Jim) of Panama City; brother, George L. Kennington Jr. (Gayle) of Port St. Joe; Cousins Buddy Kennington (Sue Ann); Tommy Kennington (Betty); Dale Adams (Joel); Connie McGuigan (Barry): Barbra Brown; Mike, Debbie, and Dana of the Rowan family and numerous nieces and nephews. Tom and Wanda met and played together as children. They later dated in high school and married in 1960. Wanda was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother and homemaker. She played the French horn, piano and excelled at various crafts and gardening. Later in life she went to college and attained an Associate Degree in Accounting from Gulf Coast Community College and worked as a book keeper for Roger Clark and Associates for many years. Wanda was humble, compassionate, wise, witty and a very good conversationalist, a joy to be around. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m., one hour prior to service time. Active pallbearers will be Graham Jones, Clarence Collins, Buddy Dye, George Emerson, Frank Bowling, and Joe Ned Sewell. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Members of the St. Andrew Baptists Church Chapel Sunday school class.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Andrew Baptist Church Center of Hope in memory of Katherine Wanda Wilder.
