Katherine E. Collier Chafin, 89, of Panama City, FL passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019. She was born on December 20, 1929 in Atlanta, GA to Samuel Ralph and Claudia Viola Collier. She worked as a Secretary at Gulf Coast State College. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Panama City where she attended the Bill Littlejohn Sunday School Class. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Turner Chafin Sr., three brothers and one sister. She is survived by three children, Bonnie Monk, Marvin "Terry" Chafin, Betsy Kirkland (Joey); four grandchildren, Waylon Monk, April Kirkland Lawhorn, D.J. Kirkland, Myles Chafin; eight great grandchildren, Bucky Lawhorn IV, Kira Lawhorn, Jazzlyn Kirkland, Caitlyn Kirkland, Mahala Chafin, Riley Chafin, Turner Chafin and Brooklynn Chafin; one sister, Betty Brown. A private family graveside service will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
