Kal G. Squires, 55, of Panama City, passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at the Covenant Hospice Care Center at Bay Medical Center. He was born on May 19, 1959 in Quitman, Georgia. He was a retired President and CEO of Bay Bank. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Panama City Rotary Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Georgia Bulldogs. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Lucile Squires; and his grandparents, Max and Irene Richardson. He is survived by his wife, Melody Squires; three sons, Kaleb Squires, Tim Tacner, Travis Tacner (Amy); two grandchildren, Anne Tacner, Thomas Tacner; and five siblings, Beverly Rogers (Bill), Elaine Robinson (Bivins), Kenny Squires (Wendy), Mike Squires (Dawn), Greg Squires (Robin); and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 – 5 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4001 W 23rd Street, Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Kal Squires.
