Julietta Strickland, 83
Julietta Strickland passed away Monday, July 31, 2023, in Panama City, Florida. She was born on August 11, 1939, in El Paso, Texas to Jesus Sida and Trinidad Anaya. She graduated from Bowie High School. In 1973, she married Lee Strickland and traveled the world with him as a devoted military wife. While stationed with her husband in Germany, she welcomed her only daughter Jennifer. When her husband retired, they moved to Alamogordo, New Mexico. In Alamogordo, she became a dedicated educator supporting the Alamogordo Public School system as a teaching assistant for over 15 years. When she retired from the Alamogordo Public Schools, she continued to work with children in Alamogordo running the before and after school care for Father James B Hay School for several years. She resided with her husband in Alamogordo for over forty years. In March 2022, she moved with her husband to Lynn Haven, Florida to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren. In May 2023, she celebrated 50 years of marriage with her husband Lee. Over the years, she touched countless lives throughout the world. She frequently encountered previous students who thanked her for positively impacting their lives. Julietta was a devoted wife, a loving mother to her daughter, and an adoring grandmother. She was beloved by her family and will be profoundly missed. She will be remembered preparing delicious meals, wearing her favorite blue sweater and earrings, and relaxing in her favorite chair with her coffee until we see her again. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesus Sida and Trinidad Anaya, her siblings Amparo Sida, Felix Sida, Rubina Garcia, and Consuelo Aguilar. She is survived by her husband, Lee Strickland; daughter, Jennifer Conner (formerly Strickland) and son-in-law, Robert Conner IV; grandsons Robert "David" Conner V and Xander Conner; sister, Jesusita Sida; and several beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 5, 2023, from 10 am to 12 noon at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida.
