JULIAN A. PIERSON, JR.

Julian A. Pierson, Jr. died May 10, 2009 at Bay Medical Center. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, July 13, 1927 he moved to Panama City, Florida in 1989 from Severna Park, Maryland.
He attended Emory University and was a graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity.
After serving in the United State Air Force, he worked for Pure Oil Company. He retired from Tenneco Oil Company in 1988 as Mid-Atlantic Wholesale Manager.
While in Panama City, he was an active member of St. Michael's Anglican Catholic Church, St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club and a former member of Panama Country Club. He combined a love of golf and travel playing a variety of courses in the United States, Spain, Ireland and Scotland.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Virginia Dennis Pierson, three children and their spouses, Marlin and Kim Sanders of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, Drew and Kim Pierson of Finksburg, Maryland, Scott and Melissa Priebe of Millersville, Maryland; and seven grandchildren, Christopher Sanders and his wife, Amanda of Honolulu, Hawaii, Ashley Sanders of Birmingham, Alabama, Sarah Pierson of Chestertown, Maryland, Megan and Andrew Pierson of Finksburg, Maryland, Amanda and Mark Priebe of Millersville, Maryland.
Visitation is from 1 to 2 pm on Wednesday May 13, 2009 at Wilson Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 2 pm with the Reverend Dr. Peter Windham officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Covenant Hospice or a charity of your choice.
