Julia Mae Vickers Hagler
1933-2013
Julia Mae Vickers Hagler was born January 9, 1933 in Columbia, Alabama and died March 14, 2013 at home. At a young age, Julia moved to Panama City and lived with her grandmother, Mae Culbreth and aunts, Allison and Pattie Culbreth. She attended Panama Grammar and is a graduate of Bay High class of 1951. She was a member of the CornerStone Ladies Sunday School class of First Baptist Church and a faithful member for 66 years.
Julia was preceded in death by her mother, Mamie Culbreth Vickers; sisters, Mary Cecil Sherwood, Jewel Marie Eubanks, and Lillian Stafford. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Jack F. Hagler; daughter, Allison Mizell (Paxton); son, Frankie Hagler (Pam); and son, Gary Hagler (Teresa); a brother and sister in law, Tom and Imogene Vickers; sisters in law, Dollie Smitherman and Ollie B. Eldridge; grandchildren, Kristina Mizell Williams (Curtis), Jared Mizell, Mary Hagler Buchenhorst (Jason), Jack Hagler III (Jennifer), Chris Barefoot (Brandi); and great-grandchildren Gracen Scott Williams, Hannah and Bailey Buchenhorst, Aiden Barefoot and many nieces and nephews she loved dearly.
Asked to serve as pallbearers are Jared Mizell, Jack Hagler III, Curtis Williams, Jim Vickers, Jake Stafford and Chris Barefoot.
The family would like to thank the angels from Emerald Coast Hospice who brought Julia home and for their exceptional care, compassion and love. With special appreciation to Betty Moore, Melissa Martin-Ramsey, Alexis Guilford, Mike Young, Kelly Shirley, Tina Wills and Karen Peeples for their kindness and compassion shown to Julia and her family. Box 1200, Panama City, FL 32402 in memory of Julia Mae Hagler.
The family will receive friends and family from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Greenwood Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. with the Reverend Clyde Ellison officiating.
