Obituary

Juergen Richard Goldhagen, 95, of Panama City Beach, passed away at home on May 18, 2026. He was born on January 15, 1931, in Hanover, Germany.

Mr. Goldhagen left Germany in 1937 and moved to the Philippines, which was later taken by the Japanese. He recounted his life in the Philippines by authoring a book titled Manila Memories. Mr. Goldhagen moved to the United States and joined the Army. He served during the Korean War.

He received bachelor's degrees from the University of California at Los Angeles and the American Graduate School of International Management in Phoenix and an M.B.A. from N.Y.U. Mr. Goldhagen retired from Chase Manhattan Bank, where he served as vice president for international human resources.

He loved to share stories about his adventures like flying on The Concorde or sailing on the Queen Elizabeth II. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and social personality.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Ford Goldhagen; son, Matthew Goldhagen and wife, Jillian; three grandchildren, Cooper, Scarlett and Grant. He leaves behind loving friends in Sleepy Hollow, NY, and Pittsboro, NC. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 12 noon Eastern Time in the Tallahassee National Cemetery.
