Joyce Sasser Taylor

August 29, 1936 ~ February 13, 2025

Joyce Sasser Taylor was called home by her Lord and Savior on February 13 leaving a legacy of friends, family and faith.  A loving and devoted wife, mother, nana, and great-grandmother, Joyce touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her warmth and kindness.

Joyce was born to Randall A and Ruth M Sasser in Alford, Florida, in 1936. She attended Chipley High School and met the love of her life, Talmadge, at Salem Freewill Baptist Church. They were married on June 5, 1954. They moved to Panama City in 1958.  Joyce retired from Stone Container in 1998 after working for 41 years as their Personnel Supervisor.  They were members of St Andrew Baptist Church for over 50 years and then Emerald Coast Fellowship since 2002.

She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, John Talmadge Taylor; her children, Kendra Lewis (Kevin) and John Scott Taylor (Shannon); her grandchildren, Taylor Bane (Kimberly) and Summer Vail (Derek); her great-grandchildren, Kennedy Vail and Beckham Bane; her sister in laws, Leron Sasser and Candy Sasser; her brother-in-law Charles Taylor, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Randall and Ruth Sasser, and both her brothers James Bryant (JB) Sasser and Billy Gene Sasser.

A special thank you to Audree Huffman her wonderful caregiver and her many hospice nurses.

Funeral services to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on    Monday, February 17.  Visitation will start at 12 pm, with the service beginning at 1 pm, officiated by Dr Steve Taylor, followed by a graveside gathering at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Emerald Coast Fellowship Building Fund, 4102 W Hwy 390, Lynn Haven, FL 32444, or to VITAS Healthcare (hospice) 638 Harrison Avenue, Suite 102, Panama City, FL  32401, in memory of Joyce Taylor.
