Obituary

Joyce Yancey Post

October 27,1929 – May 20, 2024

The life of Joyce Post is exemplified by the sentiments expressed in I Timothy 5:9-10: "She was faithful to her husband, was well known for her good deeds – bringing up children, showing hospitality, washing the feet of the Lord's people, helping those in trouble and devoting herself to all kinds of good deeds."

Joyce was born on Oct. 27, 1929 in Tallahassee, the fifth of 10 children born to Annie Mae and Malcolm Yancey. She graduated from Leon High School in 1947 and Florida State University in 1951. She married Richard Post and moved to Panama City following her graduation. They raised six children in the same house where she resided for the rest of her life. Her wonderful appreciation for beauty and creativity was exemplified most recently by the fabulous embroidery pieces she completed. Joyce grew African violets, quilted, cooked, and played with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Covenant Presbyterian Church was her church home for almost 50 years. She was also a founding
member and former president of the St. Andrew Bay Quilter's Guild, and a member of the Embroidery Guild of America.

Joyce died peacefully in her home surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Coach Post" (2013), daughter Susan
Ramsey (1979), and son David (1987).

She is survived by one daughter, Mary Jane Sinclair (Dean); three sons, John Richard, Jr. (Beth), Daniel, and Malcolm (Christa); 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Christian School or to a charity of your choice. Pallbearers are sons John Richard, Jr., Daniel, and Malcolm; grandsons Doug Ramsey, Don Ramsey, Randy Miller, James Post, and Martin Post; and great-grandsons Conner Ramsey and Carson Ramsey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2 pm in the Covenant Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends at Wilson Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 6-8 pm.
