It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Joseph Patrick "Pat" Grace, M.D., who departed this life peacefully on June 22, 2025 in Panama City, Florida. Born on September 11,1944, in Canton, Mississippi, Pat led a life marked by service, dedication, and compassion. He graduated from Tulane University in 1966 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy, where he was stationed aboard the USS Grampus and the USS Mountrail.

In 1970, Pat began his medical education at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. After earning his degree, he completed a residency at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and went on to serve as an emergency room physician at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Driven by a passion for healing, Pat returned to the University of Mississippi to specialize in orthopedic surgery. In 1980, he and his family relocated to Panama City, where he established a private practice. For nearly three decades, Pat served his community with kindness, skill, and generosity before retiring in 2008.

Pat was a lifelong learner who found joy in collecting and sharing stories. He had a natural gift for conversation and could talk to anyone about anything. In retirement, he enjoyed playing golf, painting, and, most of all, sharing meals and meaningful moments with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents James Bennett and Josephine Doherty Grace and his older brother James Bennett Grace, Jr.

Pat was a dedicated parent, grandfather, and loving spouse who filled our lives with love. He is survived by his beloved wife, Charlotte; his three daughters and their husbands, Erin and Robert, Shannon and Jeff, Amy and Casey; his cherished grandchildren, Emily, Parker, Robert, Joseph, Catie, Sam, and Ella; his sister, Mimi; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses, CNAs, therapists, and staff at Select Specialty Hospital and Ascension Sacred Heart in Panama City. Your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering dedication to caring for others have meant so much during this time. We are deeply grateful for the kindness and support you have shown our loved one and our family.

A private celebration of life will be held in Pat's honor for close friends and family. In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Pat's memory by sharing a meal and stories with those you love.
