J. Calvin Anthony, 81 of Panama City, died Thursday January 24 peacefully at his home.
Calvin was born August 2, 1926 in Apalachicola and had been a resident of Panama City for 57 years. He was a physicist at the Naval Systems Research Laboratory for 32 years until his retirement in 1982. Calvin served in the U.S. Army prior to graduating from FSU. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, craftsman and hobbyist. Calvin was a loving husband, father, and friend.
Calvin is survived by his loving wife, Annette; daughters Carol Anthony and Diane Vause and husband, Ray; grandchildren Tray and Calie Vause; brother D.F. "Red" Anthony and wife Annette; sister-in-law Julia Anthony: and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Fred and Goldie Mae Anthony; brother Louis H. Anthony; and sister Betty Carroll Anthony.
A memorial service will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday February 9 at 11:00 am.
