Johnnie Myrl Hooks Singley, 93, of Panama City, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2015. She was born September 4, 1921 in Panama City to Millard & Gertrude Hooks. She was a 70 year member of First Baptist Church, where she was the cradle roll director for over 50 years. She was a member of the Panama City Garden Club, where she was part of The Redbud Circle and also helped with the annual Azalea Trail. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Nelson Singley and a sister, Frances Ivey. She is survived by a son, Sidney Singley (Charlotte) of Panama City; daughter, JoAnn Fowler (Bill) of Albany, GA; 4 grandchildren, Wil Fowler (Carrie), Allen Singley (Tara), Singley Fowler Ray (Joe), Jonette Singley Kimbro (Bryan); 7 great grandchildren, Alley Singley, Julianna Singley, Russell Chapman, J.D. Ray, Addison Ray, Jonathan Kimbro, Bryanna Kimbro and two sisters, Jane Mitchell (Doval) and Ajetta Bass. Funeral services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen Singley and David Champion officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers are Wil Fowler, Bryan Kimbro, Mike Mitchell, Jimmy Lawrence, Ronnie Leake, Allen Singley, Jonathan Kimbro and Russell Chapman.
