JOHN MICHAEL WEEKS

TSGT (RET) John Weeks, 50, of Panama City, died Monday, August 10, 2009 from an aneurism. He was the beloved husband of Tamara, father of Cody and Colter as well as beloved brother to James Weeks and wife Sabrina; Elizabeth Gunn and husband James; Mary Jane Bailey and husband Keith; Ruth Ann Hysmith and husband Jake; uncle to Devin Weeks, Caden Weeks, Sara Hendrix and husband Brian, Daniel Gunn, Brian Bailey, Jeff Bailey, Patrick Bailey, Erin Bailey, Kayla Hysmith and grand uncle to Elisa Hendrix.

John was born in Marietta, Georgia and grew up in Wewahitchka, Florida. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1978 as a Fuels Specialist in Petroleum, Oils and Lubricants. During his military career, his desire to expand his horizons and travel was satisfied by assignments at Tyndall AFB, Florida, Aviano AFB, Italy, Whiteman AFB, Missouri, Upper Heyford AFB, England and Dyess AFB, Texas.

Following his retirement from the Air Force, John was City Manager of Munday, Texas for 5 ½ years. He then moved back to Abilene, Texas for 6 years before returning home to Panama City in 2008. Although his time on earth was short, he filled it with love and dreams. He will live forever in the kingdom of God.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 16 at 12:00 noon in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.
