John Lopes Soares Jr., 76, of Panama City, FL went to Heaven on Friday, September 24, 2021 in the ICU at Ascension Sacred Heart. He was born on October 11, 1944 in Newark, New Jersey. He served in the United Sates Army during the Vietnam War Era. John loved sailing, was a big gun enthusiast, golfing with his golf team and he enjoyed creating food dishes. He retired from Oceaneering. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lopes Soares Sr. and Olivia Silva. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joyce Jeanette Soares; two daughters, April Parrish, Angela Chestnut; two grandchildren, Cody Parrish, Hayden Chestnut; three great grandchildren, Brandon, Joseph Jaxon, River Danielle; four siblings, Jeff, Scott, Judy and Pat. A private family graveside service will be held in the Tallahassee National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lucky Puppy Rescue, 1255 Lee Road, Bonifay, FL 32425 in memory of John Soares Jr. The family would like to thank the staff and support team at DaVita Dialysis Center in Lynn Haven for their loving care.
