John Natoli, 105, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 12th 2026. John was born May 8, 1921 in Jersey City, New Jersey -moving as a young man to Manhattan's Broadway District, where he attended most Broadway Productions of the 1940's, 50's and 60's. He was a regular figure backstage -mingling with the Stars of that era, such as close friend Claudette Colbert, an Oscar winning actress. He also was a regular at the Metropolitan Opera, befriending Licia Albanese, a leading Soprano Artist of the Met. John spent two decades as an editor with ABC/ Capital Records' Westminster brand, coordinating album cover artwork and liner note content. He moved to Panama City, Florida with partner Fred Scott in the mid 70's, opening Bay Flowers in a historical building on Harrison Ave. John and Fred crafted the top floor into a beautiful Manhattan-style apartment, where he lived until his death. In the nineties, John also acquired the building next door and opened Collectables, Etc and continued to work there until turning 105 years old. John and Fred were passionate supporters of the art and music scene downtown, attending most performances at the Martin Theater. John especially had a love of Opera, the Martin Theater, the Panama City Music Association., Bay Arts Center, and the old Civic Center. John is preceded in death by Fred Scott, his parents Joseph and Agnes Natoli, as well as six brothers and sisters. He is survived by many nephews and nieces of both the Natoli and Scott families. We wish to thank his caregivers of the last several years, and all his good friends who loved him. Per his wishes, there will not be a memorial service and he will be interred with Fred Scott, in Apalachicola, Florida.
