JOHN NELL TURPIN

John Nell Turpin known to all as "Johnnie" passed away Tuesday, Nov. 28 in Albuquerque N.M. Johnnie was a life long resident of Panama City. She was born in Millville on Sep. 25, 1924 to the late John and Nell Silcox. She was a loving mother to her son, Mike, a wonderful grannie to her two grandsons, Matt and Peter, a caring big sister to her sister and brother, Grace and "Dud" and a dear aunt to many nieces and nephews. Johnnie was a friend to many and will be sadly missed. She was the best. Her caring compassion and her kindness was her gift to us all. Johnnie is survived by her son, Mike Knowles and his wife Nancy of Albuquerque NM, grandson Matthew Knowles and his wife Cathy of NM, grandson Peter Knowles and his wife Rebecca of NM and great-granddaughter Lillian Knowles. Johnnie also leaves behind her sister and husband, Grace and Ed Lippe of Austin,TX, and her brother J.W. Silcox and wife Ann of Panama City. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, "Cotton" Knowles and Gordon Turpin. Johnnie was instrumental in the foundation of the Panama City Alzheimer Support Group. The family requests that memorial tributes be made to this worthy organization, Alzheimer Support Group, 1116 Frankford Avenue, Panama City, FL 32401. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
