John Lawson "J.L." Sawyer, 92, of Panama City, Florida passed away June 20, 2016. He was born December 15, 1923 in Donaldsonville, Georgia. He served in the United States Navy during WW II. He was an electrician for the City of Panama City for 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Jetta Sawyer; wife, Mary Campbell Sawyer; two step-daughters, Margie Jones and Martha Campbell; sisters, Linda Lawrence, Elaine Trombine and Edith Williams. He is survived by three step-sons, Terry Campbell (Susan), Jerald Campbell, and Harold Campbell; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating.
