John L. Gioiello, 69, passed away on August 27, 2024. He was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on January 10, 1955. He graduated from Daviess County High School, Owensboro, KY in 1973. He was an alumnus of Samford University and Cumberland School of Law.

John was a well-respected realty attorney in Panama City. He loved the Boy Scouts. He was an Eagle Scout and earned the God and Country award. He was elected into the Order of the Arrow and achieved Vigil, the highest honor. He was a University of Alabama fan from infancy (Roll Tide!). He loved garage and estate sales ("if you can't find it at a garage sale, you probably don't need it"). He loved books and movies. Mostly, he loved his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Virginia (Sharpe) Gioiello. He is survived by his son, John A. Gioiello II of Tuscaloosa, AL; his daughter, Gina (Matt) Davis of Pittsfield, MA; his sister, Julia Gioiello of Panama City and his grandchildren, London and Vegas Gioiello and Marshall Davis.

Funeral services will held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 11 am in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment and the Rite of Committal will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10-11 am prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial donations to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of John Gioiello.
