Obituary

John Thomas Gamble Sr., 92, of Panama City, Florida, died July 6, 2008 in a local nursing home. He served in the United States Navy during World War II and was a Pearl Harbor Survivor. He was born in Parrott, Georgia. He had been a resident of Panama City since 1947. He was the owner and operator of Panama Electric Battery Company since 1968. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church. He also loved to fish. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Hicks Gamble. He is survived by 2 daughters, Patricia Liesemeyer and husband Michael of Cantonment, Florida, and Pamela Martin and husband Harvey of Wewahitchka, Florida, son, John T. Gamble Jr and partner Richard of Miami, Florida, 5 grandchildren, Patricia Mamoran, Stephanie Martin, Jerry Martin, Michelle Edmondson, Aimee Llewellyn, 6 great grandchildren, Willie Albino, Martika Albino, Zakory Martin, Savannah Edmondson, Taylor Martin, Emma Llewellyn and a sister, Birdie Lee Banks of Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Hankins officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
