Dr. John L. Fishel, 95, of Panama City, passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2020 in his home surrounded by family.  He was born January 16, 1925 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina to Arthur and Lyda Fishel.  He graduated from the University of North Carolina in 1948 with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry.  John then attended Duke University School of Medicine where he graduated in 1953. His education at North Carolina was interrupted by two years of military service in the United States Navy on the USS Tucson in the Pacific during World War II. He moved to Panama City in 1957 where he opened a medical practice that later became known as Fishel, Reese and Daffin Internal Medicine Associates. He retired in 1992 after 35 years of medical service to the Panama City community.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise McCloy Fishel; his parents; brother & sister-in-law, Dixon R. and Hodge McCloy; and a granddaughter, Lauren Marie Morrow.  He is survived by three daughters: Patricia McBride (Kevin), Paige James, Joan Morrow (John); and a son John Fishel II (Elyse). Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Michelle McBride Foley (Brian), Mark McBride and Patrick McBride (Sarah); Julian James (Marti) and Haley James Coman (Andrew); Nicolle Morrow Landress (Jason), Julie Morrow Krohn (Jason), Megan Morrow and Ginny Morrow Thompson (Travis); Brittany Fishel Trumbull (Jay) and Howell Fishel (Taylor); and fourteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev.
