John "Johnny" Albert Delcomyn, 95, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2019, at his farm in Bay County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Nell (Penton) Delcomyn. He is survived by two daughters, Laura Suzanne (Delcomyn) Roberts and her husband, Douglas of Tallahassee, FL, and Carrie Anne Delcomyn of Panama City Beach, FL, and other extended relatives. He was born in Mississippi and moved to Panama City in 1934. After graduating from Bay High School he entered the United States Army serving in World War II. After hitting the beach at Normandy as part of the D-Day landings, he was captured at the Battle of the Bulge and held as a POW in Germany. After WWII, he married his sweetheart Ruby Nell, served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Panama City, became a Master Electrician, and was the General Superintendent for the City of Panama City, FL. He was in charge of the electrical, maintenance, recreation, parks and beautification for the city. He retired from the city after 32 years of service. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, December 6, 2019 from 4-6 pm at Wilson Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 11 am in the Greenwood Cemetery.
