JOHN ALVIN COTHRAN
John Alvin Cothran was born February 23, 1930 in Kreola, MS and Died December 1, 2006 Panama City, Fl. He was predeceased by wife Betty Blair Cothran, parents Ellis Copeland Cothran and Willie Alice McDonald
Cothran Carlson and brother, James E. Strong. He is survived by son
Mark Cothran, step daughter, Rhonda Smith, grandsons, Christopher, Jonathan and Jeremy Cothran and Robbie Smith, sisters, Mary Jane Sheffield and Alice Lynch and several nieces and nephews.
He is being cremated and interment will be at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp, Al with military and Masonic rites at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2006. John served in the US Army from 1949 til 1975 and received the bronze star. He was a member of the Shrine at Abba, Islam and Shaddai Temples. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and Royal Order of Jesters.
