John S. Coleman, 91, of Panama City, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013. He was born August 11, 1922 in Bay County and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 1942 graduate of Bay High School. John was a U.S. Navy submarine veteran having served in the Pacific during World War II. He was office manager for Daffin Mercantile for 45 years retiring in 1984. He was a life member and past president of the Panama City Lions Club and was an Elder at First Presbyterian Church, where he also served as Deacon and Trustee. He was also a member of the Elks Club and served as a Board Member of Family Services. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Lee Coleman, 3 children, Nick Coleman (Margo), Vicki Lowell, Pam Holman (Jerry), 5 grandchildren, Nicole Coleman, Kirk Coleman, Jonathan Lowell, Rachel Lowell, Jeremy Holman, great grandson, Nicholas McBrayer and a sister Ellen Gordon. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the First Presbyterian Church of Panama City with Dr. Richard Watson officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1-2 p.m. Saturday prior to the service.
