Obituary

John C. Claspy of Panama City, born May 24, 1945, died on July 16, 2026. John was a retired IT Specialist who worked with numerous United States Government contractors related to military operations. His last position was at the Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. John graduated from the University of West Florida and was proud to be an Argonault!

John was an avid reader and usually had several books waiting to be read at any given time. The last count of the number of books he had read with “Goodreads” was over 154 books. In addition, John was recognized by the Grand Lodge F.A.A.M. of Washington D.C. with a lifetime achievement award recognizing the completion of 60 years of enduring and faithful work in the quarries of the Fraternity. At one time in John’s life, he was a choir member at the famous Washington National Cathedral in Washington, D.C.

John attended Lynn Haven Methodist Church, Lynn Haven, Florida until homebound. John was predeceased by his wife Lynda Redmon Claspy, his parents of Panama City, Mr. William G. Claspy and Mrs. Dorothy Bon Claspy; predeceased by a sister Joyce Swann. John is survived by his sister Judy Cox of Pennsylvania.

The graveside service will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 10 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Cemetery with Masonic Rites to be conducted at the service.
