JOHN OSBORNE BRIDGES

John Osborne Bridges, 78, of Panama City Beach, passed away Monday, January 16, 2012 in his home. He was born May 11, 1933 in Atlanta, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a retired comptroller for Swift And Company. Mr. Bridges was an elder and former church administrator at Chapel Hill Harvester Church in Atlanta. He enjoyed country and gospel music and he had a gentle spirit. Mr. Bridges was preceded in death by his brother, Ralph Bridges and sister, Annie Laurel. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy "Dottie" Bridges; two daughters, Teresa Lucas (Jeff), of Panama City Beach, Cindy Hall (Greg), of Decatur, GA; and four grandchildren, Jonathan Hall, Daniel Hall, Tiffany Lucas and Preston Lucas. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Irwin officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:30 – 11 a.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 219 N Alf Coleman Road, Panama City Beach, FL 32407 in memory of John Bridges.
