JoAnne Golden Rehberg

June 10, 1935 - January 20, 2013

Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, JoAnne Golden Rehberg, 77, passed from this life into her Heavenly Fathers' arms on Sunday afternoon, January 20, 2013 surrounded by her family.

JoAnne was born in Graceville, Florida on June 10, 1935 to Layton and Ruby Golden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her oldest sister, Madeline Harrison; her brother, Charles Golden; and two brothers-in-law, Emmett Harrison and Brant Goodson.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Mancle W. "Buddy" Rehberg and her two daughters, Elizabeth Rehberg Champion and husband David of Panama City, FL; Nancy Jo Clements and husband Webb of Port St. Joe, FL. Four grandchildren: Meredith Champion Thompson and husband Steven of Charlottesville, VA, Matthew Rehberg Champion of Panama City, FL. Laura Leigh Clements of Fort Walton Beach, FL and Carley Ann Clements of Port St. Joe, FL; her sister, Betty Goodson of Tallahassee, FL; her brother and sister-in-law John and Marie Golden of Graceville, FL, and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

She retired from Gulf Coast Community Hospital in 1986 to keep her first granddaughters. Living by example, she loved God with all her heart. She was a devoted member of Immanuel Baptist Church for over 55 years and enjoyed singing in the choir. She longed for the day when she could return to the choir. Her passion was raising her children with integrity and giving honor to Christ in all things. She enjoyed being with her family, fishing, and canning vegetables which she loved to give away to family, neighbors and friends.

We rejoice knowing she's in heaven, in God's presence, and will forever cherish our fond memories of her. She will truly be missed.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to the service. A graveside will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery in Graceville, FL.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions in JoAnne's name may also be made to Immanuel Baptist building fund (216 College Ave. Panama City, FL 32401) or Emerald Coast Hospice (2925 Martin Luther King Blvd. Panama City, FL 32405).

The family wishes to thank the caring staff at Gulf Coast Community Hospital second floor south and the ICU unit nurses for the tender care they provided. Also, the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice who were always compassionate and caring during her brief stay at home.
