Joan Tuzinkiewicz, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026, leaving behind a lifetime of cherished memories and a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. She was born on August 7, 1940, in Newark, New Jersey, to Leo and Elsie Baer, who preceded her in death.

On August 17, 1963, Joan married the love of her life, Alfonso Tuzinkiewicz. Together they built a loving family and shared many happy years filled with devotion, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.Joan was the proud and loving mother of George Tuzinkiewicz and Linda Riggins. She warmly welcomed her daughter-in-law, Diane Tuzinkiewicz, and son-in-law, David Riggins, into the family. Nothing brought Joan greater joy than spending time with her grandchildren, Victoria Tuzinkiewicz, John Riggins, and Angela Riggins, each of whom held a special place in her heart.Growing up in Chicago helped shape Joan's strong work ethic and caring spirit. She enjoyed a successful career as a bookkeeper, where her attention to detail, reliability, and integrity earned the respect of those who worked alongside her.Outside of work, Joan embraced life's simple pleasures. She loved line dancing and always enjoyed the music, fun, and friendships it brought. An avid reader, she especially looked forward to the latest James Patterson novels. She also found great enjoyment in watching the Father Brown television series, appreciating its engaging mysteries and memorable characters.Joan will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, and deep love for her family. She found happiness in everyday moments and leaves behind countless treasured memories that will continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.Though she will be deeply missed, Joan's love, wisdom, and gentle presence will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 24th, 2026 at 1:30 p.m. in the Barrancas National Cemetery, Pensacola, FL.
