JIM FINNEY THOMAS, SR.

Jim Finney Thomas, Sr., 70, of Callaway, passed away on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. He was born January 2, 1942 in Panama City and had been a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 1960 graduate of Bay High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. Jim was a member of the Pipefitter and Steamfitter Union #229 (now, 366). He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Kermit & Mary Sahoy Thomas; and two brothers, George Thomas and David Thomas. He is survived by his three children, Jim F. Thomas, Jr., Teresa Thomas Drake, David Joseph Thomas (Amanda); five grandchildren, Megan Nelson, Kayleigh Drake, Carrieanne Drake, Kirra Thomas, Lynnae Suzette Thomas; and one brother, Bert Thomas (Fayla). A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick McClung officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 – 3 p.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 4001 W 23rd Street, Suite C, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Jim Thomas. The family will be at the home of Bert & Fayla Thomas, 405 South Bonita Ave, Panama City, FL 32401.
