Jim Fulford

November 14, 1936 – November 23, 2024

Jimmy "Jim" Norman Fulford, Lt. Col. U.S. Air Force (retired), age 88, of Panama City, Florida died peacefully at home Saturday morning November 23, 2024.

Jim was born November 14, 1936 in Bonifay, Florida.  After graduating Holmes County High School, he joined the U.S. Air Force.  He retired from the Air Force in 1984 after serving over 27 years. Jim then began his civilian career at Gulf Coast Community College as a Mathematics professor.  He retired from teaching in 2001.  In both the Air Force and at Gulf Coast Community College Jim received numerous decorations and awards for his work and dedication.  He attended Parker United Methodist Church and through the years held several offices at the church. After his two successful careers Jim enjoyed spending much of his time fishing and hunting with friends and family.  He was known for his love for his family, his quick wit, and wonderful sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mary Ann Fulford, his two daughters Katie Patterson, and Sheila Suchman, his son Edward Fulford, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, sister-in-law Jackie Fulford, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sister Mary Lou, brothers Joseph, Thomas, Harry, and Max, and by a grandson.

There will be a visitation for Jim on Sunday December 1, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 214 Airport Road Panama City, FL 32405.  Funeral Services will be Monday December 2, 2024 at 10:00am at Wilson Funeral Home, officiated by Reverand Edward Fulford.  Internment with full military honors will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens 3733 US Highway 231 North, Panama City.  Immediately after the internment there will be a luncheon at Parker Global Methodist Church 908 S. Tyndall Parkway, Panama City.
