JEWELL MERCER

Jewell Mercer, 91, of Panama City, died Sunday, April 12, 2009. She was born March 1, 1918 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was a member of the St. Andrew Baptist Church, where she attended the Fred Sale Sunday School Class and volunteered in the church library. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anderson Clayton Mercer. She is survived by her daughter, Pat Watson, son, Kenneth Wayne Mercer and wife, Martha, two grandchildren, Larry Watson, David Mercer and wife Jenna, six great grandchildren, Heather Watson, Corey Watson, Logan Watson, Crystal Mercer, Justin Mercer, Dawson Mercer and great great granddaughter, Hailey Watson. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Michael Claunch officiating and Dr. Fred Sale providing the eulogy. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. Andrew Baptist Church Library Fund, 3010 W 15th Street, Panama City, FL 32405 in memory of Jewell Mercer.
