JESSIE PITTS OWENS
Jessie Pitts Owens, 92, of Panama City, passed away Monday, October 27, 2008. She was born September 11, 1916 in Wausau, Florida and resided in Panama City for most of her adult life. She retired from school food service. Mrs. Owens spent most of her later years at the Panama Towers among friends and loved ones. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her husband, L.L. Owens. She is survived by her son, Charles E. Owens, and daughter-in-law, Fairy Ann, of Hughes, AR, two grandchildren, Suzanne Lowery of Memphis, TN, and Michael Owens of Panama City, four great grandchildren and many loving nephews and nieces. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Wausau Cemetery with Dr. John Friedman officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 – 8 p.m. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society, 2012-A Lisenby Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405 or to the Forest Park United Methodist Church, 1401 West 23rd Street, Panama City, Florida 32405 in memory of Jessie Owens.
