Obituary

Jessie Joe Large, 67, of Panama City, Fl passed away at home on Wednesday, October 29, 2008 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 24, 1941 in Sandersville, GA to Lillie Page and Joe Large Sr. He lived in Panama City for 37 years. His entrepreneurial spirit enabled him to pursue many business interests throughout his years. He owned and operated Captain Joe's Marina in Mexico Beach, Fl. He owned several fishing and shrimping vessels and was involved in boat and marine sales and eventually owned and operated poultry farms. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Katrina Kesslar; father-in-law, Clarence Reichert, Sr. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Kay; two sons, Craig Large and wife Sjahn of Panama City, and Chadwick Large of Panama City; one brother Jack Large and wife Betsy of Jacksonville; one sister, Sandra Charlovich and husband Charlie of Eastman, GA; and his mother-in-law; Agnes Cooper Reichert of Boston, GA. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at the Forest Park United Methodist Church with Dr. John Friedman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at 3 p.m. EST on Saturday, November 1, 2008 in the Little Flock Cemetery, Boston, GA. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Villars, Lamar Harris, Robb O'Farrell, Greg Scott, Grady Broxton and Jim Fountain. Those desiring may make donations to Forest Park United Methodist Church, 1401 West 23rd Street, Panama City, FL 32405 or to H. Lee Moffit Cancer Center, c/o Dr. Mayer Fishman, MD, 12902 Magnolia Drive, Tampa, Florida 33612 in memory of Jessie "Joe" Large.
