JESSE WILLIAM COTTEN JR.

Jesse William (J.W.) Cotten Jr., 78, of Panama City, died May 19, 2007 in a local nursing home. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana and reared in Batchelor, Louisiana. He attended LSU. He was a member of the Louisiana National Guard. He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force for 4 years and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the City of Panama City Water Department as the inventory supervisor. He had been a resident of Bay County since 1962. He was a member of the American Legion, Local Elks Club, 4th degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council #3599, St. Dominic's Catholic Church, and Commander Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem. He was preceded in death by his parents, Sue R. Cotten and Jesse W. Cotten Sr. and brother-in-law, Ed Lundin Sr. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Bynum Cotten of Panama City, sister, Mary Jane Lundin of Baton Rouge, La., and her children, Roger Munson, Emily Sue Lepard and husband William, Jane Berg and husband Robert, Deborah Shelton, brother-in-law, John Franklin Bynum and wife Doris and their children, John Hubert Bynum, Amy L. Emery, James Carl Bynum and wife Kelly, Michael Alan Pittard and wife Frances, Larry Edward Dean and wife Bennie Jo, Roger Philip Dean and wife Denise, and sister-in-law, Lois C. Halas and husband Joseph. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in the St. Dominic's Catholic Church with Father Peter Zalewski and Father Ben Klucinec officiating. Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
