Jared Colby Sasnett, 34, passed away suddenly in a tragic accident on April 18, 2026, in Youngstown, Florida. Jared was born on February 23, 1992, in Bay County, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esther Lott, and Francis and Emery Sasnett.
Jared is survived by his loving wife, Christina Sasnett, and their four daughters, Emilie, Eliana, Lareina, and Leticia, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his parents, Greg Sasnett and Paula Infinger; his step-parents, Betty Sasnett and Kevin Infinger; his grandfather, Harold Thompson; his brother, Lucas Sasnett and his wife Genevieve; his sister, Cecilia and her husband Joe; his nieces, Zara and Ahri; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
Jared graduated from Wewahitchka High School and went on to pursue his passion for helping others. He attended EMT school, the fire academy, and paramedic school at Gulf Coast State College. He began his career volunteering with Bay County Fire Rescue before being hired full-time. Throughout his career, he also served as a dispatcher for Bay County, worked as a firefighter with the Springfield Fire Department, and as a paramedic with Gulf County EMS.
Jared was first and foremost a devoted husband and father. His wife and daughters were his greatest joy and purpose. He was equally dedicated to the fire service and to the brothers and sisters he served alongside. Known for his strength, leadership, and unwavering commitment, Jared made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
In his personal life, Jared loved spending time with his family, hosting gatherings, and creating lasting memories—especially dressing up with his wife and daughters for holidays. He was highly goal-oriented and passionate about fitness, always striving to stay in peak condition for his demanding career. He participated in numerous fitness challenges, 5Ks, half marathons, and ultra marathons. Jared was also proud to take part in the Florida and Georgia Smoke Divers programs, and F.L.A.M.E.S, reflecting his dedication and resilience.
Jared was a loving husband, father, son, brother, friend, and leader—an incredible man who will be deeply missed by many.
A service to honor Jared’s life will be held on Monday, April 27, at 11:00 AM at Highland Park Baptist Church. The Church will be open at 0930. The family asks that attendees arrive and be seated by 1030.
