Janis Lee Delk, 81, of Callaway, Fla., passed away September 11, 2019, in her home. She was born March 10, 1938, in Mojave, California, to Leslie and Ora Simpson. She graduated from Florida State University-Panama City campus with a bachelor's degree in business. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Nadine MacClanahan and Mary Ragasa. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Derrill Rothell Delk, whom she accompanied for 27 years to Air Force bases from the Gulf of Mexico to the Canadian border, the Pacific coast to the Atlantic coast while partnering in parenthood; she is survived by two daughters, Deborah Lynn Grady (J. Lee), Denise Leslie Troup (William); one son, David Rothell Delk (Melinda); eight grandchildren, Laura Margaret Turner (Rick), Georgia Meredith Legg-Grady (Sven), Gloria Joy Grady-Schmidt (Clayton), Charlotte Rose Grady, Nicholas William Troup (Chrissy), Leslie Shoemaker (Gary), Jack Rothell Delk, Anne Lauren Delk; and four great grandchildren, Grady Bereket Turner, Hananiah Redding Turner, Judah Ellie Turner and Lillie Anne Troup. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at 2 p.m. in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1–2 p.m. prior to the service. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the First United Methodist Church Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
