Janice (Jan) Norton passed away peacefully on April 20th, 2023, at 77 years old. During her last days, she was surrounded by family and best friends.

Janice was born August 20th, 1945, to parents George Coy and Tida Rollins. She lived a full life as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by her children, Sher (Bryan Johnson), Rod (Kim) and Jeff (Kelly); grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, Trevor and Kaitlyn; numerous nieces and nephews and beloved dog, Mya. She reunites with her husband of 40 years, Albert (Gene) Norton, and her brothers, George Ray Rollins, Sr. (Grace) and James E. Rollins.

Janice, a native of Panama City, graduated from Bay High School in 1963 and later worked in the insurance field for many years. She retired from a construction company and real estate business as office manager.

For a time, she enjoyed membership in the Beta Sigma Phi sorority. A lifelong learner and avid reader, she perpetually sought to better the lives of her family and those around her. Her highest priority in life was to provide her children and grandchildren with the best she could give them, filling their lives every day with love, joy and good counsel.

Janice was a faithful friend and a doting mother and grandmother. She spent her life surrounded by those whose lives she profoundly touched. She took great pride in every aspect of her work, both in business and at home, seeing the passing of every day as another opportunity to spread love and kindness. In her free time, she delighted in an extensive book collection and celebrated a prolific and creative inner world.

A celebration of life for Janice will be held at Wilson Funeral Home, Friday, April 28, 2023 at10:00 a.m. Dress is business casual, and all are lovingly welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society.
