We the family of Janet Wester Taylor are deeply grateful for her long and caring life. Janet was born on March 5,1944 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Henry Thomas Wester and Jessie Mae Dunn. She was known by all for her unwavering faith, kind spirit, and commitment to serving others through her Church, Grace Presbyterian, in Panama City, Florida.
For over 40 years, Janet was a pillar of Grace Presbyterian Church, where she devoted countless hours to the ministry. She cherished her work as an Elder of the Church and enjoyed her time with the Presbyterian Women’s Group. She was dedicated to her work with the Church and was a comforting presence to those in need. Her life was a testament to her belief, and her legacy of faith will continue to inspire all who knew her. Outside of her ministry, Janet was known for her love of jewelry-making, gardening, morning walks, tea parties, and volunteer work.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; her sibling, Christopher Wester (age 6); her daughter Kelly Hightower (age 53) and her grandson Jeremy Hightower (15yrs). She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Youngblood and husband Shawn, and her grandchildren Brooks and Olivia Youngblood; she is also survived by her grandson, Justin Hightower and wife Amber, along with her great grandchildren Jeremy and Deven Hightower. Her siblings, Thomas Wester and Judith Wester will miss her greatly, along with her circle of friends and church family.
A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, 16 March 2026 at Grace Presbyterian Church, 1415 Airport Road, Panama City, Florida 32405 with Rev. Eric Spoon officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, continuing her passion for service.
