JANET HARRIS
Janet Harris, 73, a life-long resident of Panama City, passed away Monday, June 20, 2011 of complications of heart disease. She was born March 7, 1938 in Panama City, the third of five children of Harry & Ruth Harris. Janet was a 1956 graduate of Bay High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She retired after working 33 years as a civil service secretary at Tyndall Air Force Base. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathryn Rigney and Patsy Shelton; and niece, Vicki Haupt. She is survived by her sister, Kay Cromwell; brother, Robert Harris (Seija); three nieces, Linda VerPlanck (Buz), Amy Griffin (Brandon), Emily Parsley (Bill); nephew, Rob Harris and great nephew, Owen Parsley. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday in the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rudy Olivo officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until service time. Those wishing to do so may make donations in Janet's memory to Covenant Hospice, 107 W 19th Street, Panama City, FL 32405.
